Children's University
Mon 14th Oct - Children's University Launch Assemblies
We welcomed Laura Ashcroft, Sefton Children's University Coordinator, to our assemblies to launch Children's University at Great Crosby. She told us about all the ways that we can gain credits towards the graduation rewards at the ends of Years 2 and 6.
Children will be able to gain credits by attending school clubs at lunchtimes or after school. They can also gain credits at clubs that have signed up as Children's University Learning Providers, where they can have their passports stamped. Children's University passports will be available to order at parents evenings for £5.

Learning For Fun
Children’s University is a national charitable organisation that provides young people with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside of normal school hours. The innovative Passport to Learning encourages children from the age of five to try new learning experiences in and outside of school; at after-school clubs, at home, in the local library, museum or further afield.
Children’s University culminates in an inspirational graduation ceremony at the end of Year 2 and Year 6. The adventurous programme encourages children to see the joy of learning, giving them a sense of wonder, developing their confidence, and opening their eyes to a brighter future. Raising children’s aspirations is the driving force behind Children’s University and the aim is to develop the understanding that learning can be the navigator to better places in life.
Activity 1 - Winter Reading Challenge
Take part in the Winter Reading Challenge by reading at least three books and registering online. Send a picture of your certificate and you will receive three credits.
Activity 2 - Indoor PE
Have a go at some indoor games. There are 31 to choose from!
Activity 3 - Science
Try some of the experiments.
Activity 4 - Visit
Visit one of the Children's University learning destinations and write a 50 word review with some pictures.
Activity 5 - Christmas emoji song challenge
Complete the Christmas emoji song challenge.
Activity 6 - Baking
Have a go at some Christmas baking.
