Teaching Assistant Level 2 1:1 Support and Welfare Assistant

The Governors are looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support a child in Year 4.

The TA2 contract is for 27.5 hours per week, and the Welfare contract is for 2.5 hours per week. The contracts are fixed term until 31.07.25 or until the child leaves the school, whichever is the earliest.

The candidate will:

Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction
Provide specific support to pupils, dependent upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
Promote self-esteem and independence
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance and direction of the teacher
Be familiar with the school assessment policy and Early Years pedagogy
Assist with the display of children’s work
In liaison with the teacher, utilise strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals
Establish positive relationships with parents/carers
Prepare and maintain resources required for the learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

Will support, contribute and uphold our strong Catholic ethos
Is enthusiastic and committed to making a difference
Has a proven record of working with children in Key Stage 1
Is organised, efficient and able to work in a busy environment
Has a high expectation of care for all children and an understanding of school safeguarding requirements
Has excellent communication skills at all levels, is a team player, has a desire to raise standards and a sense of humour

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
